CSR in the context of globalization
Companies face an increasingly international context in which to carry out their business. Due to the globalization of the economy, companies are involved in ever-growing international networks of suppliers and clients. In this economic context, multinational companies have an important role to play both at a national and international level, since they can promote, but also prevent or even be detrimental to, the development of public or regulating policies, which favour more balanced, sustainable development, the eradication of poverty, and the right to a decent life.
In the MANGO Chair, we believe that CSR has a global nature, and not only does it affect all the business areas of the company, but also all the value chain needed to carry out the activity, to provide the service or to produce the goods. In order to put CSR into practice in an international context, we will need to take into account the cultural, social and political features of each country in which the company operates. Similarly, companies should integrate CSR in their international production and marketing chains.
